31Bet is a sportsbook and casino run by a Maltese company, and the paperwork behind it checks out. The licence is active on the regulator’s own site, the operator and its address are printed in the terms, and New Zealand is not on the banned list. Where it slips is the casino side: there is no New Zealand dollar account, and the welcome package costs more than it gives.
We did not deposit or withdraw real money here. What we did was read the Terms and Conditions and the Bonus Policy in full, take our screenshots from a New Zealand connection on 11 October 2026, follow the footer’s licence seal to the Malta Gaming Authority’s own authorisation page, and run our bonus value test on paper. The short version: an offshore sportsbook with a casino bonus you can ignore.
The short version, before the paperwork
If a sportsbook with a casino is what you are after, 31Bet fits. If a casino bonus that survives its own wagering rules is what you are after, it does not.
Good fit if:
- You want the licence verified at the source. The MGA’s own seal page names the operator and lists 31bet.com as Licensed.
- You want deposit, stake and loss limits by day, week or 30 days, plus a reality check every 15 to 60 minutes.
- You are happy to hold your balance in euros or US dollars and let your bank do the conversion.
Think twice if:
- You want to deposit and cash out in NZ dollars. No NZD option appears in the sign-up form or the FAQ.
- You want a welcome bonus that leaves something behind. Our NZ$100 test finishes at minus NZ$100 on the first deposit offer.
- You want a short, clearly published payout time. Pending runs 1 to 2 working days, then up to 3 more.
18+. Spintown.nz earns a commission if you sign up through this link. It does not change any number on this page.
Four out of twelve, and where the points went
Our check is twelve yes-or-no questions, each one answered only from documents you can read before you register: the terms, the bonus terms, the regulator’s register and the lobby itself. If the paperwork is vague, the question scores nothing, because we do not hand out credit for good intentions. 31Bet takes 4 of the 12. It keeps points for a licence shown as active on the regulator’s own page, an operator, company number and address published in the terms, New Zealand not appearing on the restricted countries list, and responsible gambling tools explained in public. It loses the rest on missing NZD support, fees the terms allow, payout times, welcome bonus maths, a cash-out cap, and offer cards that do not match the banners.
Paper
- ✓Licence shown as active on the regulator's own siteThe MGA's own seal page lists MGA/B2C/824/2020 for OnyxioN Malta Limited as Licensed, with 31bet.com among its websites, checked 11 Oct 2026.
- ✓Operator, company number and address published in the termsONYXION MALTA LIMITED, registration number C 95392, 206 Wisely House, Old Bakery Street, Valletta (T&C 1.1). About us and the Privacy policy name the same company.
- ✓New Zealand is not on the restricted countries listNew Zealand is not on the T&C 2.3 list and is in the sign-up country list; the Bonus Policy excludes only Finland from bonuses.
- ✗No one-sided rules on wording or the final say in disputes3+1 Free Bet rule 8: the company judges any uncertainty itself; Sportsbook 5.3 makes its decision on bets accepted with reserve final. Both are on the sports side.
Money
- ✗NZD account availableFAQ: deposits and cashouts in EUR; the sign-up form offers EUR or USD. No NZD.
- ✗No casino fees on deposits or withdrawalsT&C 4.7: unplayed deposits can be refunded minus a fee of up to 20%; T&C 3.2.5: deposit fees at the casino's discretion.
- ✗Withdrawals processed within 24 hours (published figure)T&C 4.1.4: pending 1-2 working days, then up to 3 working days to arrive.
- ✗No rule to wager your own deposit before cashing outT&C 4.7: funds not wagered at least once face extended checks and a fee of up to 20%, so in practice each deposit has to be played once.
Bonus
- ✗Welcome bonus does not cost more than it gives (NZ$100 test)-NZ$100 left of a NZ$100 bonus after wagering.
- ✗No cash-out cap on winnings from the welcome bonusClause 11 of the welcome offer: winnings moved to real money capped at 10x the bonus.
- ✗Offer card and bonus terms describe the same offerLobby banners: up to 500€ on the 2nd and 3rd deposits; offer card: 75% up to 200 and 100% up to 300. The phone promotions page does not show the casino welcome offer at all.
Protection
- ✓Deposit limits, breaks and self-exclusion explained publiclyLimits (T&C 3.2.2, Responsible Gaming 3.2 and 4), a time-out (2) and self-exclusion from 1 week to 1 year (3.1) are explained on public pages.
One point for each question the published documents answer in the player's favour. Unclear answers score nothing until the casino clarifies them in writing.
Testing the first deposit bonus on a hundred dollars
The Newcomer Special at 31Bet is 100% up to 500 EUR/USD on a first deposit, and it is wagered on your deposit and the bonus together, 45 times, within 30 days. On a NZ$100 deposit you get NZ$100 of bonus money, with NZ$9,000 of play standing between you and any of it. Pokies return about 96% on average, so every NZ$1 you wager costs roughly 4 cents. That is about NZ$200 of expected cost against a NZ$100 bonus.
The result of the value test is minus NZ$100. Two clauses make the arithmetic worse rather than better. Bets are capped at 5 EUR/USD per spin on slots, and a higher spin does not count and forfeits its winnings, so clearing NZ$9,000 inside 30 days works out at around 300 spins a day at NZ$1. The welcome offer then caps what you can move to real money at ten times the bonus, so a good run has a ceiling as well.
| You deposit | NZ$100 |
|---|---|
| Bonus at 100% | + NZ$100 |
| Wagering: 45x on deposit + bonus | NZ$9,000 to turn over |
| Average cost of that play (96% RTP pokies) | - NZ$200 |
| Bonus value left | -NZ$100 |
Costs much more than it gives (-100% of the bonus survives its own wagering)
- Time on the clock
- 30 days = about 300 spins a day at NZ$1
- Biggest bet while wagering
- 5 EUR/USD per spin on slots
- Most you can cash out
- NZ$1,000 - clause 11 limits what you can move to real money to 10x the bonus
How the test works: we put NZ$100 through the offer exactly as its terms read. Pokies pay back about 96 cents per dollar staked on average, so every NZ$1 of wagering costs about 4 cents. What is left of the bonus after that cost is its real value. It is an average, not a forecast: a single session can land far above or below it.
There is a bigger catch before you deposit. On a phone, the promotions page does not list the casino welcome offer. The lobby banners promise up to 500€ on the second and third deposits, while the offer card gives 75% up to 200 and 100% up to 300, and the crypto banners do not match the crypto card either. Screenshot the desktop card, and if the card and the banners still disagree, skip the bonus.

The rest of the package, same test
The second and third deposit bonuses and the crypto package all sit on the same 45x on deposit plus bonus, within 30 days, from a 20 EUR/USD minimum. So they land in the same place.
| Offer | Deposit | Bonus | Wagering to clear | Value left | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Casino welcome bonus, 1st deposit (Newcomer Special Offer)100% up to 500 EUR/USD, 45x deposit + bonus within 30 days, from a 20 EUR/USD deposit | NZ$100 | NZ$100 | NZ$9,000 | -NZ$100 | Costs much more than it gives |
| Casino welcome bonus, 2nd deposit (Newcomer Special Offer)75% up to 200 EUR/USD, 45x deposit + bonus within 30 days (a lobby banner says up to 500€) | NZ$100 | NZ$75 | NZ$7,875 | -NZ$100 | Costs much more than it gives |
| Casino welcome bonus, 3rd deposit (Newcomer Special Offer)100% up to 300 EUR/USD, 45x deposit + bonus within 30 days (a lobby banner says up to 500€) | NZ$100 | NZ$100 | NZ$9,000 | -NZ$100 | Costs much more than it gives |
| Crypto welcome bonus, 1st crypto deposit (Crypto-Deposit Package)150% up to 500 EUR/USD, 45x deposit + bonus within 30 days, from a 20 EUR/USD deposit | NZ$100 | NZ$150 | NZ$11,250 | -NZ$100 | Costs much more than it gives |
| Weekly cashback (casino), on request5% of a weekly net loss of 100-1,000 (max 50), 7.5% above 1,000 (max 375), 10% above 5,000 (max 1,000), EUR/USD; 30x within 7 days | NZ$100 | NZ$5 | NZ$150 | -NZ$1 | Costs a little more than it gives |
Each offer is put through the same test: NZ$100, or the offer's minimum deposit if that is higher, and an average cost of 4 cents per NZ$1 wagered on pokies.
The second deposit offer, 75% up to 200, gives NZ$75 of bonus for NZ$7,875 of turnover, about NZ$175 of cost and minus NZ$100 of value. The third, 100% up to 300, gives NZ$100 for NZ$9,000 and minus NZ$100. The first crypto deposit, 150% up to 500, gives NZ$150 for NZ$11,250 of play, about NZ$250 of cost, and still minus NZ$100. Every one is capped at 10x the bonus on the way out, and cancelling the crypto package before the wagering is done removes the bonus, its winnings and anything you wagered with it – worth reading if you fund play that way at all.
The weekly cashback is the ongoing casino offer we tested, requested through live chat or email when your balance is under 1 and nothing is pending: 5% of a weekly net loss between 100 and 1,000, capped at 50, then 7.5% above 1,000 capped at 375, then 10% above 5,000 capped at 1,000, in EUR/USD. It carries 30x within 7 days on slots only, a 5 per spin cap and a cash-out cap of 5x the bonus. On a NZ$100 loss that is NZ$5 of cashback, NZ$150 of turnover and about NZ$6 of cost – a smaller loss than the welcome offers, though still on the wrong side of zero. The sports welcome bonus is a sportsbook offer with its own rules and we did not put it through a pokies test.

Paying in and cashing out from New Zealand
There is no NZD account. The FAQ says you top up and cash out in euros, the sign-up form offers euros or US dollars, and NZD appears in neither, so your bank converts every deposit and every payout and may charge for it. 31Bet has no public payments page either: the FAQ mentions one that links nowhere, /en/static/payments returned a 404 error on 11 October 2026, and the Help Center link in the desktop footer does not resolve. The footer carries a wall of payment logos, but nothing says which of them work for a New Zealand account.
Minimum deposit is 15 EUR per the FAQ. Minimum withdrawal is 10 EUR in the terms and 20 EUR in the FAQ, which is one more place the page and the contract disagree. Payouts sit pending for 1 to 2 working days and then take up to 3 more; bank transfers run about 5 working days. Withdrawals go only to the card, bank or wallet you deposited with, and ID, a utility bill and a bank statement under 6 months old can be requested. The terms also allow the casino to set deposit fees at its own discretion, and if you ask to cash out money you have not played through once, extra checks can follow and up to 20% can be kept as a fee.
| Method | Type | Min deposit | Deposit lands | Cash out? | Payout time | Fee |

| Cryptocurrency | Crypto | Not published (coins not named) | Not published | Yes | Not published; only to a verified wallet you deposited from (T&C 4.1.8) | Not published per method; T&C 3.2.5 and 4.7 allow fees |
There is no public payments page: the FAQ refers to a Payments page but links nowhere, /en/static/payments returned a 404 error on 11 Oct 2026, and the Help Center link in the desktop footer (help.31bet.com) does not resolve. These rows are built only from the method types in T&C 3.1.4, 4.1 and 4.1.8 and the FAQ minimums, read 11 Oct 2026. The footer logos do not show which methods work for a New Zealand account.

The limits on the way out
Per withdrawal the ceiling is 7,500 EUR or the currency equivalent, with a weekly cap of 10,000 and a monthly cap of 20,000. No VIP limits are published. No single bet or spin can pay more than 50,000 EUR, bonus rounds and free spins included, and the terms name no exception for progressive jackpots, so a jackpot win above that figure can in principle be trimmed back.
- Smallest withdrawal
- 10 EUR (T&C 4.1.4); the FAQ says 20 EUR
- Processing
- Pending 1-2 working days, then up to 3 working days to reach you (T&C 4.1.4); bank transfers about 5 working days (T&C 4.1)
- Per week
- 10,000 EUR or currency equivalent
- Per month
- 20,000 EUR or currency equivalent
- VIP ceiling

- Progressive jackpots
- No exception stated; the 50,000 EUR maximum win per bet or spin (T&C 4.1.7) has no carve-out for jackpots
- Per withdrawal
- 7,500 EUR or currency equivalent (T&C 4.6)
- Maximum win per bet or spin
- 50,000 EUR, including bonus rounds and free spins; anything above can be taken back (T&C 4.1.7)

- Deposit fees
- The casino may set deposit processing fees at its own discretion (T&C 3.2.5)
- Deposit made with a bonus
- The balance cannot be withdrawn until support removes the bonus and its winnings (T&C 4.1.1)

Who runs it and who licenses it
31Bet is operated by ONYXION MALTA LIMITED, company number C 95392, at 206, Wisely House, Old Bakery Street, Valletta VLT 1451, Malta. The licence is MGA/B2C/824/2020, and when we followed the seal in the casino footer we landed on the Malta Gaming Authority’s own Dynamic Seal Of Authorisation page. It names the company, shows the licence as Licensed for casino and fixed-odds betting, and lists 31bet.com, 31.casino and 31bet.co. That page shows no company number and no grant date; the casino’s own terms give 15 November 2021 as the issue date. Complaints go to [email protected] within 3 months, with a reply in 10 days and another 10 in some cases, then to the eCOGRA ADR service or the MGA – a genuinely independent route. In plain words, a Maltese regulator and Maltese law sit behind the rules, and New Zealand law does not cover the site. That is the usual trade-off offshore.

Checked 11 Oct 2026: we followed the MGA seal in the casino footer to the regulator's own Dynamic Seal Of Authorisation page on authorisation.mga.org.mt. It names OnyxioN Malta Limited at 206, Wisely House, Old Bakery Street, Valletta, status of licence Licensed, and lists licence MGA/B2C/824/2020 (B2C Gaming Service Licence, casino and fixed-odds betting) as Licensed, next to a B2B licence MGA/B2B/951/2022. Website URLs on the page: https://31bet.com/, https://31.casino and https://31bet.co. The page shows no company number and no grant date; the casino's T&C 1.2 give 15 November 2021 as the issue date. The page is not built for phones, so we shot it at a wider window in the same New Zealand session. Open the certificate

Limits and breaks you can set
This part of the site is well documented. At 31Bet, deposit, stake and loss limits for a day, a week or 30 days are set online or through support, a lower limit applying at once and a higher one after 24 hours. A reality check pop-up runs every 15 minutes to an hour. A time-out is available by asking support, and self-exclusion runs from 1 week to 1 year, renewable, after which the account is open only for withdrawals. Two caveats: both the break and the self-exclusion go through support rather than a button in your account area, and the only help services named are GamCare and Gambling Therapy, with no New Zealand service listed.
- ✓Deposit limitsT&C 3.2.2: daily, weekly or 30-day limits, set online or through support; lower limits apply at once, higher ones after 24 hours. The Responsible Gaming page says support sets them on request.
- ✓Loss or wager limitsT&C 3.2.2 covers stake and loss limits for the same periods.
- ✓Session remindersA Reality Check pop-up every 15 minutes to 1 hour (Responsible Gaming page 3.3).
- ~Cooling-off breakTime Out: ask support to close the account temporarily; no length is given (Responsible Gaming page 2).
- ~Self-exclusionThrough support, from 1 week to 1 year, renewable (Responsible Gaming page 3.1); afterwards the account is open only for withdrawals through support (T&C 5.2, 5.3).
- ~Help services listedGamCare and Gambling Therapy. No New Zealand service is named.

Pokies and studios in the lobby
The 31Bet lobby bills itself as 3000+ new and classic slots, sorted into Popular Slots, Bonus Buy, Megaways, Drops & Wins, Jackpot Games, New Games and Table Games. The studios seen were Pragmatic Play, Nolimit City, Relax Gaming, NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming, Evoplay, iSoftBet, Betsoft, Microgaming, Wazdan, Booming Games, Fugaso, Quickspin, PG Soft and Apollo Play. Pragmatic Play’s Drops & Wins runs from 4 March 2026 to 3 March 2027 with a 25,000,000 EUR prize pool and prizes paid without wagering. No RTP figures are published, so our sums use the usual 96% pokies average.

Clauses worth reading twice
A handful of lines do more work than the promotions page. Changes to the terms take effect only once you accept them, and until you do you can withdraw your deposit but not play, which is in your favour.
The casino welcome bonus is wagered on your deposit and the bonus together, 45 times, within 30 days. On a NZ$100 deposit that is NZ$9,000 of play for a NZ$100 bonus.
7. Both Bonus and Deposit amounts need to be wagered: [...] 45 times for the first deposit bonus.
Newcomer Special Offer card, desktop promotions page, read 11 Oct 2026Every welcome bonus, fiat or crypto, caps what you can move to real money at ten times the bonus.
A maximum winnings cap applies to all Welcome Bonuses. The transferable amount to the Real Money balance is limited to ten times (x10) the initial bonus amount.
Newcomer Special Offer and Crypto-Deposit Package cards, clause 11, read 11 Oct 2026The welcome offer reads differently depending on where you look. On a phone the promotions page does not list the casino welcome or crypto packages at all; the desktop page does. Lobby banners promise up to 500€ on the second and third deposits, while the offer card gives 75% up to 200 and 100% up to 300, and the crypto banners do not match the crypto card either. Screenshot the card before you deposit.
Make your second deposit and you are eligible for a 75% Welcome Casino Bonus up to 200 €/$/C$
Newcomer Special Offer card (desktop promotions page) and the casino lobby banners on a phone, 11 Oct 2026Ask to cash out money you have not played through once and the casino can run extra checks and then keep up to a fifth of it as a fee.
Once Extended due diligence is completed successfully, Company reserves the right to refund back deposited amount minus the transaction fee up to 20%.
T&C 4.7, version 26.06.2024There is no New Zealand dollar account. You play in euros (or US dollars on the sign-up form), so your bank converts every deposit and payout and may charge for it.
You can top up your casino balance and make cashouts in EUR.
FAQ question 2, read 28 Sep, 10 Oct and 11 Oct 2026No single bet or spin can pay more than 50,000 EUR, bonus rounds and free spins included. The terms name no exception for progressive jackpots.
The maximum amount that We shall be obliged to pay to You in respect of any single bet or spin, including any single bonus round or free spin, shall be limited to and in no event shall exceed the amount of 50 000 (fifty thousand) EUR
T&C 4.1.7, version 26.06.2024Some rules give 31Bet the last word on its own terms. The 3+1 Free Bet rules let the company settle any doubt itself, and in the sportsbook rules its decision on bets accepted with reserve is final. Both sit on the sports side; the casino section has no such clause.
In case of any uncertainties, the company will judge the case itself.
3+1 Free Bet rules, rule 8, promotions page, read 11 Oct 2026; Sportsbook section 5.3 of the T&CLeave money in an account you stop using and a small monthly fee starts after a year, with 30 days' warning.
a maximum administrative fee of 5 EUR (or a currency equivalent amount) per month shall be deducted from Your Account.
T&C 2.11, version 26.06.2024Disputes have an independent route: the eCOGRA ADR service, or a complaint straight to the Malta Gaming Authority.
You have the right to bring any disputes in relation to Services, Us to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body eCOGRA.
T&C 7.3 and 7.4, version 26.06.2024You can cap deposits, stakes and losses by day, week or month, and a lower limit applies at once.
You can set self-imposed limits for deposits, stakes and losses, without giving reasons, in order to self-control Your own betting behavior. Such limits can be set for time periods of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
T&C 3.2.2, version 26.06.2024

What we could not check
Plenty only shows itself once real money moves, and we would rather say so than fill the gap with guesses.
- We did not deposit or withdraw real money at 31Bet. The payout times on this page are the casino's published figures, not our own timings.
- We did not open an account, so the limit and self-exclusion settings inside the account area were not seen.
- There is no public payments page, so which payment methods work for a New Zealand account, and their limits and fees, were not seen. The footer shows logos of Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Paysafecard, Skrill, Sofort, Pix, Discover, AstroPay, JCB, Interac and Noda.
- Which version of the welcome offer applies: the casino welcome and crypto packages are listed only on the desktop promotions page, and the lobby banners give different amounts. Ask live chat before a deposit and keep the answer.
- No game weighting is published for the welcome bonuses (they can only be wagered on casino games); our test assumes pokies count in full.
- The minimum withdrawal: T&C 4.1.4 say 10 EUR, the FAQ says 20 EUR.
- The account currency for a New Zealand address: the FAQ says EUR, the sign-up form offers EUR or USD. NZD is offered in neither.
- The MGA page shows no grant date; 15 November 2021 is the casino's own figure (T&C 1.2).
- The footer link '31bet Casino Club' goes to a different domain (31betcasino.com), which we did not open.
- Support response times and how long ID checks take in practice.
Questions we keep getting
Is 31Bet licensed and safe for New Zealand players?
The licence is genuine: MGA/B2C/824/2020, held by ONYXION MALTA LIMITED, shown as Licensed on the regulator’s own seal page with 31bet.com listed. Complaints can go to eCOGRA or the MGA. It is still an offshore site, and New Zealand law does not cover it.
Can I play at 31Bet in New Zealand dollars?
No. The FAQ says deposits and cashouts are in euros, and the sign-up form offers euros or US dollars. Your bank converts each transaction and may charge for it.
How long do 31Bet withdrawals take?
The published figures are 1 to 2 working days pending, then up to 3 working days to reach you, with bank transfers around 5 working days. Those are the casino’s figures, not timings we measured.
Is the 31Bet welcome bonus worth taking?
On our NZ$100 test, no. It leaves minus NZ$100 after wagering, caps real-money winnings at 10x the bonus and limits spins to 5 EUR/USD. Given that the phone promotions page does not list the 31Bet casino welcome offer, skipping it is the simple answer.
