Curaçao Licensed Casinos for NZ Players

In our table of 27 casinos, Curaçao is the second most common licence after Tobique – and it causes the most second looks. Between 10 and 12 Oct 2026 we read the terms, the bonus terms and the payment pages of all 27 from a New Zealand connection, then compared what each site claims with the regulator’s registry as it stood on 9 Oct 2026. Eight of those casinos show a Curaçao licence – in other words, eight curacao casino brands. Three of the eight show Active for the site we opened: Slot Lounge, 1GO and Jet.

The other five are Indefinite in the registry, marked Assessment in progress, or quietly disagreeing with themselves. We would rather say that out loud than pretend a Curaçao casino licence is a quality stamp. It is not. It is a document you can check in about three minutes.

Our Curaçao Casino Licence Check for NZ Players, October 2026

The table below is our full casino table; the Curaçao licences in it are listed one by one further down, with the status the registry showed and a link to each review. For the wider ranking see our best online casinos page. Of the eight Curaçao brands, three we can trace end to end; five we cannot.

A Curaçao seal is a claim. The registry status is the evidence – check it before you deposit.

Everything else on this page is a footnote to that status.

The Island or the Licence?

Search for curacao casinos and half the results are about the Caribbean island itself – hotel floors with table games, blackjack and poker for visitors. This page is about something else: Curaçao licensed online casinos open to New Zealand players – not a casino in Curaçao you can walk into. The island’s online gaming regulator issues the licence; the casino games, the cashier and your account sit on a website run from somewhere else entirely.

That split matters because Curaçao’s licence covers very different businesses, and the jurisdiction is a hub for many casinos that never set foot on the island. In our table, 1GO and Jet run a casino and a sportsbook side by side, so sports betting sits under the same OGL/2024/169/0146 number as their pokies and live tables. Slot Lounge is casino only. Whatever the gaming experience looks like, the question is the same: does the licence on the certificate match the site you are about to deposit at?

What Changed in Curaçao

Curaçao’s parliament approved the National Ordinance on Games of Chance – the LOK – on 17 December 2024; iGaming Business reported it on 19 December. The old master licence system was abolished and replaced by a new regulatory framework. Licences now come directly from the regulator – iGaming Business named it the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, while the certificates we checked carry the Curaçao Gaming Authority name – and it can grant, amend, suspend, revoke or deny them.

The trace sits in the numbers. Every Curaçao licence in our table uses the OGL/2024/… format, so if a footer seal leads nowhere, or shows a number the register has never heard of, you are looking at decoration. The register is the page worth reading.

The Eight Curaçao Licences in Our Table

One line each, status in plain words.

  • Slot Lounge – OGL/2024/161/0191 under Stable Tech N.V.; the CGA certificate for slotlounge.com reads Active.
  • 1GO – OGL/2024/169/0146 under Galaktika N.V.; the seal led to a certificate for 1gocasino.com, status Active, while our link landed on a numbered mirror.
  • Jet – the same licence, OGL/2024/169/0146, Galaktika N.V.; the certificate is for jet.casino and reads Active.
  • Just Casino – OGL/2024/164/0246, Just Entertainment B.V.; no seal on the site, registry status Indefinite, no website named, not shown as Active.
  • WinSpirit – OGL/2024/923/0383 appears on a marketing page only; the registry lists it for Complete Technologies N.V., status Indefinite, no website named; its own terms name no operator.
  • Spin Grande – OGL/2024/494/0671, Luckland Group B.V.; no seal, registry status Assessment in progress, expiring 4-Jun-26, no website named.
  • Spin Samba – the same OGL/2024/494/0671; the certificate behind its footer seal shows Active for spinsamba.com, while the registry of 9 Oct 2026 lists the licence as Assessment in progress.
  • XON – OGL/2024/1056/0702, Inextro B.V. in the registry, status Assessment in progress, expiring 4-Jun-26; no seal and no licence line in its terms.

Spot the pattern. The three that show Active all had a certificate we could reach through the site’s own seal. The rest are not automatically unlicensed – Spin Samba’s seal does lead to a certificate, just not one that agrees with the registry. But “probably fine” is not a phrase you want in a licence check.

What Active, Indefinite and Assessment Actually Mean for You

Active is the only status that answers the question you are actually asking. It means the certificate the casino links to matches that casino: the domain, the company name and the licence number all agree. Slot Lounge’s certificate names slotlounge.com. Jet’s names jet.casino. 1GO’s names 1gocasino.com even though our link landed on a numbered mirror, which is the sort of detail worth knowing before you deposit.

Indefinite means we could not match the licence to the curacao casino in front of us. Just Casino’s OGL/2024/164/0246 sits in the registry with no website named and is not shown as Active. WinSpirit’s number, OGL/2024/923/0383, appears on a marketing page, while the registry lists that number for Complete Technologies N.V., again with no website named – and WinSpirit’s own terms name no operator at all. The licence may be entirely genuine. We simply cannot tie it to the brand you would be playing at, which is the part that matters.

Assessment in progress is the least settled of the three. Spin Grande and XON both carry it, both with an expiry date of 4-Jun-26 in the registry, and neither site showed us a seal we could follow. As it reads, the licence is not yet approved, or at least not shown as approved for a named website. Spin Samba is the awkward case: its footer seal leads to a certificate that says Active for spinsamba.com, while the registry of 9 Oct 2026 says Assessment in progress. The regulator’s two pages disagree, so we report the disagreement rather than picking a side.

Checking a Curaçao Licence Yourself

About three minutes, and it is the same sequence we use.

  1. Follow the seal in the casino footer to the regulator’s certificate page. No seal, no follow-up – that is your answer.
  2. Compare the domain, the company name and the licence number on that certificate with the site you are actually on.
  3. Look the number up in the regulator’s registry and read the status: Active, Indefinite or Assessment in progress.

Step three is where most of the Curaçao casino paperwork in our table comes apart. A number in a footer is a claim; a matching registry entry is evidence. A large deposit bonus on a curacao casino homepage says nothing at all about the licence behind it.

How Curaçao Compares with the Rest of the Table

Curacao casinos are not the only licensed online casinos in our 27-casino set, and not automatically the weakest. Playmojo runs on a Kahnawake Gaming Commission licence, number 940; 31bet carries MGA/B2C/824/2020 from the Malta Gaming Authority. Both are named regulators with registers you can query. The top casinos on our list are not decided by jurisdiction alone, and the best casinos in each group are the ones whose paperwork matches the site. CristalPoker and SpinCity sit under Anjouan.

The rest of the table splits between Tobique numbers and a group of casinos without any licence named in their terms at all. That last group is the one to pause on, because you cannot look up what was never written down. Our safe online casinos page explains what to check beyond the licence.

Questions Players Ask

Are Curaçao casinos legal for NZ players?

Under the Gambling Act 2003, no company may operate an online casino from inside New Zealand. Playing at an offshore site is legal for NZ players, and the protection you get comes from the operator’s overseas licence – which is exactly why the licence line deserves those three minutes. Online gambling licensing is changing here too: a local regime for online casino gambling is being introduced, and we keep the detail on our gambling law page rather than repeating it. Where and whether you gamble stays your call.

Is a curacao casino licence safe?

A gambling license is a permit to operate, not a promise about anything else. What we can say from our own checks is narrower and more useful: an Active certificate matching the domain, company and number is the minimum bar, and across the eight Curaçao licences in our table only three cleared it for the site we opened. Where the registry names no website, or where the regulator’s own pages contradict each other, treat the licence as unresolved. None of it tells you how the casino games actually play – for that you read the bonus terms and the cashier pages, the way we do.

How do I verify a casino licence?

Follow the footer seal, compare it with the site you are on, then look the number up in the register – the same steps for every curacao casino. That works for Curaçao, for Malta and for Kahnawake, and it fails just as quickly when there is no seal to follow. Our how we review online casinos page sets out the full sequence, including the parts a seal will never tell you: what the bonus terms say about deposit and withdrawal, and where the limits sit. It makes no difference whether you are there for blackjack, roulette, live dealer games or plain slot machines. The licence covers the operator, not the table games, and certainly not a slot tournament running in the lobby. It covers a company, and the company is the thing you are trusting.

I’m not your pastor, and I’m not here to save souls. But after years studying digital user behavior, working inside a gaming startup, and seeing NZ gambling law, RNG fairness, and bonus T&Cs twisted to hook players, I can’t sit quiet. I know how mobile casinos are built — I helped design some of the hooks. Now I tear them apart, call out the scams, and show players (especially the young ones) where the fun stops and the trap begins.
