Before you bet
You must be 18 or over to bet with TAB. Under section 89 of the Racing Industry Act 2020 it is an offence for a person under 18 to make a bet, for anyone to bet on their behalf, and for TAB staff or agents to accept the bet. Venue staff can ask for ID. Our guide to the legal gambling age in New Zealand covers every other form of gambling.
If betting is costing more than you planned, the Gambling Helpline is free and open 24/7 on 0800 654 655 or by free text to 8006. More options are on our gambling help page.
